Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC)
The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at Sudhiranjan Lahiri Mahavidyalaya has been formed in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) to systematically promote innovation, startup culture, intellectual property rights (IPR), and entrepreneurship among students and faculty. The council plays a pivotal role in nurturing creative potential and translating innovative ideas into viable projects or enterprises.
A council meeting convened on 4th April 2025, under the leadership of Dr. Dipankar Ghosh, Head of the Institution and President of the IIC, formally restructured the council for the academic year 2025–26.

The council also includes Dr. Otojit Kshetrimayum as an External Expert to provide strategic input and academic-industry linkage.
The IIC operates through quarterly meetings to assess progress, plan activities, and integrate efforts with various departments and centres. It follows the MIC’s structured IIC calendar, organizes self-driven initiatives, and encourages cross-institutional collaborations to promote a vibrant innovation and startup ecosystem.
