About Central Library
The Central Library was established along with the establishment of this Mahavidyalaya in 1966 in order to meet the academic needs of the teachers and the students. The Central Library is also facilitates research and higher learning and career guidance by providing books, academic journals, e-journals, newspaper, career oriented journals & periodicals and other documents to the teachers and students.
Initially the Library was housed in the ground floor but owing to devastating flood in 2000 about 4000 books was totally damaged and the library was sifted to 1 st floor. And in the year 2018 total central library was shifted at a separate library premises measuring plinth area about 3400 Sq.Ft., with all kinds of modern library facilities.
Now Library has five main sections:
- Open Access Reading room: Present Reading Room Consist of OPAC Terminal and Journal display board with Wi-Fi facilities in the Library
- Stack room: Present Stack Room consist of three Sections i) Text Book Stack Section ii) Research , Reference and Braille Book Section and iii) Text, Reference and Carrier Guidance Book Section for open access Reading Room .
- Lending and Processing Section: Consist of i) Circulation Desk ii) Processing Desk iii) Digital Display Board and iv) New Arrival Display Board
- Digital Library Section: i) CD/DVD Display Board ii) Internet, E-books and e- journal Terminals and OPAC Terminals and iii) Audio Books for visually disable students
- Librarian Chamber: Consist of Trophy Display Racks and Librarian office with attached wash room
The S. R. L. Mahavidyalaya, Central Library cordially invites all levels of Reader Community to visit and be a member of the library.
BOOK BANK LIBRARY
Under the supervision of Central Library, there is a separate Book Bank Library for economically backward needy students. The library has good collections of reference books. Poor and needy student can borrow one additional book from this library.
DEPARTMENTAL LIBRARY
Every Department of this Mahavidyalaya maintains a separate Library for their own Students. Students can borrow books from this library with consultation of their Teachers.
